Reading and Writing into the Twenty-first Century

Language Arts 6 is an interdisciplinary class taught with a variety of thematic units. The course includes reading, writing, listening and speaking standards as well as research skills.

English 7 is an interdisciplinary class taught in connection with geography and science. Composition assignments, reading, activities, and projects related to the geography and science curriculums. The course also includes the study of vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and usage.

English/Reading I: Reading 7 is a course designed to assist students who are significantly below grade level with reading skills. Placement in this class is based on the recommendations of the teacher.

English 8 is an interdisciplinary class taught in connection with American History. Composition assignments, reading, activities, and projects relate to the American History curriculum. The course also includes the study of vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and usage.

Reading 8 is a course designed to assist students who are significantly below grade level with reading skills. Placement in this class is based on test scores and the recommendation of the teacher.
