NCMS SPELLING BEES: Open to all students. The NCMS Spelling Bee is an academic program that encourages students to improve spelling, increase vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives. The school bee is held in January and determines participants for the District Spelling Bee, which takes place in February. The Language Art Department sponsors school bee events and celebrates all spelling participants.

Schools must register for bees by October 15. Students may access spelling bee study resources by visiting www.myspellit.com. Word lists for school bees will be available before end of first trimester. Guided study session including on-line sessions will be held by the school sponsor November-February
